on reaching acceptance

sometimes

you just have to grieve

that things didn’t turn out

the way you planned for them to

longed for them to

worked for them to.

sometimes

you need to crumble

weep

hurt

rage

feel sorry for yourself.

because, news flash: pity parties aren’t wrong.

(they may not leave you very empowered, but they’re not wrong.)

sometimes, they’re quite necessary.

so cry, rant, feel, whine, scream at the wind.

and then

say it’s complete.

because it is.

because you say so.

because all of it happened perfectly in the past

and it couldn’t be any other way.

but mostly

because you deserve to live

powerfully

contentedly

hopefully.

in the only place you can:

this present moment.
